TODDLER FOOD PARTNERS

Helping malnourished children.

In Memory

TODDLER FOOD PARTNERS remembers its founder, Don Moran.

Donald Martin Moran died June 25, 2007 from colon cancer at age 62.  Don founded Toddler Food Partners in 2003 after retiring from a lifelong career in electrical engineering at Sperry Univac, now Unisys.   He had several patents in his name from his work at Unisys, and continued inventing things after his "retirement" when he started volunteering and then working at Compatible Technology International.   Bruce Humphrys, executive Director of CTI said Don "was both a visionary and a practical guy.  He was able to examine a need and translate that into a piece of engineering work, simple enough to be replicated in the community where it was needed."   While at CTI, Moran invented a solar-powered peanut roaster for use in rural areas without electricity.  The roasted peanuts were then used in a therapeutic toddler food

Wanting to focus on helping malnourished children, Don formed Toddler Food Partners, establishing strong relationships with those in the medical profession who had developed ready to use therapeutic food recipes that have proven to combat malnourishment in one to four year olds.   He traveled to Haiti, Malawi and Bangladesh to develop these programs, and was instrumental in opening doors for others almost up until the time of his death.   He truly leaves a lasting legacy.
